Well I on the other hand have no shortage of furniture however with all the rain recently I’m very short on pot…s and pans. Apparently, hundred-year-old munitions factories were never built to tolerate the elements and on a nightly basis I’m left with memories of my childhood in Niagara Falls. Luckily though my studio has a balcony, which I use to cover all the vital equipment.

I too haven’t been out in sometime… at least not to any clubs and I am beginning to miss it. Don’t get me wrong I get plenty of exercise at my weekly marauder meetings with the almighty Klopeks, but with them the shaking is of a different kind… and I am not a vanilla man. I do have to admit though, that last weekends CD release party (Straight To Hell, The Legendary Klopeks… buy it now or they will come to your house and do horrible things with your condiments) will go down in the books as unparalleled mayhem by which the likes mere mortals can never partake. Shenanigans to the power of 100.

As for this weekend… it’s my best friends B-day and I’m making the trek with some close friends out to the middle of nowhere to visit. This will undoubtedly be followed up with playing corvette some more. There’s a lotta work to be done on that pretty lady and I’m sure to love every minute of it.

Oooo-oooo go check out the revamped EC site… I’m quite pleased with how it turned out.
What up 2.0?

Yeah, I don’t have a coffee table. I cut corners when it comes to real adult-style living. At least I don’t still keep everything in piles on the floor and in milk crates (my filing system when I was in school).

I’m a little sore today as I went to a hiphop dance class last night. The teacher roooocked. She was totally funny and had more energy than me times 20 to the power of a quadruple espresso. I was a little bummed, though, that we danced to P.Diddy and the jazz class next door got to dance to the new Justin song. He’s Justifi-iiiine.

Haven’t gone out to the danceries much lately but did go to a party last weekend that re-ignited my dancing bug. It was called Hot Times and it totally was. It was so hot in the grungy basement club that we were all dripping with sweat. Somebody wrote “It’s getting Hot in Herre” in steam on the mirrored wall. Coldplay covered that song in their concert last weekend, too. Geez, Nelly’s a crossover sensation.

But anyway, now that I’m all Lord of the Dance about everything, I think I’ll go home for some global pop - put on my new gusgus cd and give it a good shake. What are you sayin’ Ryan?

Sadly, I have not recently scored any ‘products‘. Gladly, I have recently scored some ‘services‘.

Not those kind of services.

Lucky girl that I am, my friend Greg has been helping me beautify my apartment. He very kindly has built shelves, put things on walls, patched holes, painted, put up new light fixtures, and the list goes on!

Lucky girl that I still am, my friend Chris just rebuilt my computer and I have a crush on it all over again.

Fall always brings about deep shopping urges for me. This fall it’s not just school supplies and clothes - it’s furniture. I can’t get enough. Which funnily enough brought me to furniture porn, a must-see.

Hannah, are you still coffee table-less?

I too enjoy good books, but lately I find that I start reading one, and then end up buying a bunch of music magazines, and it takes me forever to finish anything! I will probably have more time to read now that one of my roomates moved out and took the TV (along with everything else in the house).

Since the house was so empty this weekend (who’s kidding who, it’s gonna be empty for a while…but big thanks to George for hookin’ me up with some of his old gear), my other roomate and I took the opportunity to get rid of the ugly mustard and ketchup colours that were haunting us. I hate painting…honestly I hate it. But when we cranked up the latest Queens Of The Stone Age album and I got my roller ‘on, it really wasn’t that bad (Dude, I’d be happy getting a root canal if that album was playing in the background…do you have it yet? No? Go, get it. It totally slays).

In between painting, I managed to head out and celebrate my buddy Brad’s birthday. I scored him a rad movie for his birthday…

Hey Soph, scored anything rad lately?

Hey Jenn …

Friday, September 20th, 2002

Hey Jenn,

Thanks a lot.

I’ve been spending the last few days getting ready for my interview with Bob Geldof. Geldof was the frontman for the boomtown rats and is the guy who created “Live Aid”. The concert designed to raise money for famine relief Live Aid is also the concert that truly launched U2 on the world and bob has been the architect of socially conscious and politically active music for a long time. The funny thing is that during the interview Geldof admitted to inventing the hit show “Survivor“. He said he was watching TV one night and thought it was boring so him and a couple of friends decided to make a fun show… the end result was Survivor. bizarre.

also,

I’m reading this book called “Easy Riders, Raging Bulls“. It’s about Hollywood during the seventies. It tells the stories of the making of some of the greatest films of our time… and how they almost never got made. “Sex, drugs, rock n roll, ego, cheating, ego and sex” did I mention drugs? Just a nightmare of a story that whipped up incredible art.

Bgood,

Let’s send it to the Shouldice.

Thanks Jelly Kelly.

I’m busy researching for the big Coldplay I&I this Sunday. Did you know Chris Martin turned down $85 million to use the band’s music for advertising? Money talks.

I’m also working on a breakdance battle called MuchBreaks. Tune in Saturday, October 5th, live from 3:00 - 6:00 for 2on2 battles. boh boh boh!

I’ve been feeling all e-mailed out lately. Too much spam in my INbox at home. I’ll pass on the porn, viagara, and quick cash. I get enough rock and roll working with music videos all day.

We have the new Distillers vid! I’m often frustrated with the under representation of women in rock. Brody could be the 2002 wake up call. Hopefully the industry doesn’t fall asleep again.

Over to your man - George. What are you reading lately?

Oh bratt you are soooooo dead! What’chooo thinkin’ tellin’ eveybubby mah bidniss? What? What did I just write? Ahem, okay so indeed I was out on a date on Saturday…and duuude it was totally hot. His name is Mitch and he’s a rapper. Oh! that totally reminds me, did anyone catch the Jamie Kennedy Experiment on Sunday? In one of the ‘xperiments’ he pretended to be this Eminem-wannabe and got a girl to convince her mother and sister that she was totally in love with him. There were a bunch of other hillarious ‘xperiments’ that actually made me laugh out loud. You guys hafta watch that show.

Another thing that made me laugh out loud was a movie called Wet Hot American Summer, sure it sounds dirty, but it’s not that kind of movie. It’s more of a ‘what the… omigod… bwaahaha! …wait, what?’ kinda film.

Okay so finally, I have to tell you all about a dream I had last night. I dreamnt that Kelly Osbourne was coming in to Much and that I was in charge of the lighting for her interview (I know, since when am I a lighting tech?) but instead she and I and her friends ended up just hanging out and I took her to a club with some of my friends. Is it weird that I really wanna be friends with her? Cuz, um I do.

Okay i’m toast…Jenn you got any jam?

Hey there …

Hey there kiddies!!!

Indeed I’m sure the grrl would love a vibrating broom for Christmas, however I have a feeling I would need to bring a real broom to fight off the lonely house wives whilst trying to purchase one. And that my friend is why they invented online shopping!

Sorry ’bout the delay in blogging however I was quite consumed with writing my review (click here to read… shameless plug) on Friday and it slipped my not so sharp mind.

With the weekend freshly commenced, I’ve lots to tell. Saturday was spent at a friends wedding which was awesome. I was a little worried as I’m often uncomfortable at family events where I don’t know any of the family, but thankfully the apple didn’t fall far from the tree and they seemed as welcoming and friendly as he is and as such we had a blast at both the ceremony AND the reception.

Sunday afternoon was spent doing one of my FAVORITE things ever… working on a hot rod. I’m currently in possession of a beautiful 1974 Corvette. This sexy beast has a rebuilt 350ci V8 that’s putting out just a hair under 500hp… and is fully detailed in chrome. Last night I went and saw Stealing Harvard and I gotta tell you… that was the greatest movie ever… TO POOP ON! It was absolutely one of the worst movies I’ve seen in some time (barring of course The Sweetest Thing). I’m a huge Jason Lee fan. I was when I was 12 and he skateboarded for a living and I am now. However, not even he nor his demented cohort Tom Green could pull this lemon outta the juicer. I sincerely hope someone was using the production of this movie to launder money because I can’t even imagine anyone thinking that this was entertaining enough an idea to make into a feature film. I don’t even recommend renting this one.

And with that my friends, I must bid you adieu and pass the mic to Matt 2.0. I hear you had an interesting weekend… care to share with the rest of the class?

Why Hannah, you blog and tag like a pro.

I also am bummed that I didn’t get to see Spellbound at the Festival. I love spelling - that’s no lie. I used to wish I could be in a spelling bee! All we ever had at my elementary school were ‘amateur’ in-class spell-offs. My teacher touted them as spelling bees, but they just weren’t the same. The intense competition and formality of an official Bee was obviously lacking. Hey Hannah, do you want to spell something later?

When not obsessing about my spelling and the spelling skills of others, lately I’ve been preoccupied by two Harry Potter things that were just brought to my attention.

What’s up with the vibrating Harry Potter broom?

What’s up with this U of T course on Harry Potter And Wizardry, Past And Present?

I tore through those books as fast as I can. The movie was ok and although I’m sure all the merchandising is appalling, I’ve pretty much ignored all of that. But c’mon, a ‘vibrating broom’ and a university course? How is this for real?

Although…the broom could be interesting…LOL. No surprise that some parents gave the vibrating broom negative reviews…

Ryan…didn’t you say you might pick up one of those HP brooms as an xmas gift for your GF?

Whoo! I got tagged! I’ve never done this before but I know I was born to blog.

You know when you see something that’s just soooo cute, you have like a cute spasm and you just want to squish said cute item? Biking around this morning, it was The Day of the Cute Dog. Geez. So much cuteness abounds.

The Toronto Film Festival is on and that’s why I was careening around this morning, earlier than I normally get a few sleepy blinks in to the day. I caught “Better Luck Tomorrow” and liked it. It had an all-Asian cast, was directed by Asian American director Justin Liu but it’s not all like, “This is the way of life of the Asian people in America”. They just kick it with a movie that’s really good.

Was very sad that I missed Spellbound, a doc on spelling bees (I’m obsessed with spelling bees! The supercompetitive ones on TSN are so awesome!) but snuck in Raising Victor Vargas (two thumbs and a big toe up) and Spun (stylistically very cool, but it gets 3 hi’s out of a hi-five).

Also, went to Ladyfest yesterday and was very taken with Bloodsisters. If you’re a double-x and you’re visited by Aunt Flow every month, you need to check this ish. Don’t be grossed out. Be informed.

I’m a relay racer, the blog is the baton. Go Sophia!
