Hey Jenn, those holiday wrap commercials are so dope!  Speaking of Run DMC, “Christmas In Hollis” is just as good as any Christmas carol out there; they should be playing it in department stores and malls in my opinion.

Thank goodness the holidays are here, I’ve got some solid hours to spend with my new ps2 game and my turntable that I bought about a month ago but haven’t even touched yet.

Happy Holidays folks!

Kelly, would it be rude of me to ask you to give me one of your holiday mix CDs? And would it be rude of me to then dub that CD, and give it to my friends as my alt.Christmas Card?

Zwan is sound checking as I blog this. What a treat! Am I the only one who can’t say the word Zwan?

My man Manny, have you seen the RunDMC inspired Much Holiday Rap commercials? Too good! And, I just found out, more are on the way …

It’s that time of year…the time when instead of holiday greeting cards, I make my friends a mix CD. I’ve titled this year’s compilation ‘Sharing The Laughter And Love’, and here are the tunes that made the cut:

1. Cactus-David Bowie (I was front row at Area:2 this summer. Watching a legend up close like that was amazing. This is my fave track off his latest disc ‘Heathen’.)

2. Trusty Chords-Hot Water Music (I saw HWM twice this year. The second time I was climbing onstage to film them, then I got stuck and the crowd saw up my kilt. But then watching them from the side of the stage made up for my embarassment.)

3. Cut Your Ribbon- Sparta (Saw these guys twice this year too, once in a tiny club and the next in a bigger venue. I was sad to see ATDI end, but elated to see these guys rise from the ashes.)

4. Kemp-Millencolin (Got to meet them after their show. I felt so lucky. They were just so cool.)

5. City Of Angels-The Distillers (my favourite band released a new album in February and I haven’t stopped listening to it since. I just can’t say enough about Brody.)

6. Tall Cans In The Air-The Transplants (Who knew that punk rock+hip hop would = really effing good music?)

7. Oh-Sleater Kinney (I wish I had someone to sing a song like this about.)

8. You Could Be Mine- G’N'R (I got to see them before the tour was canned. It was amazing. Honest.)

9. No One Knows- QOTSA (Wicked live show. Wicked album. Wickedest video featuring roadkill.)

10. Hey Domingo-Weezer (One of the many tracks I downloaded when I was obssesed with their website. Saw them for the third and fourth time this year. Fell in love with bassist Scott Shriner both times.)

11. There goes the fear-Doves (I listen to this when I’m sad)

12. You Are My Joy- The Reindeer Section (I listen to this to make me happy.)

13. Flake-Jack Johnson (Makes me want to run away to California.)

14. Reflections-Diana Ross and The Supremes (I put this one on when I have to do something lame like clean the bathroom and the time just flies.)

15. Big Pimpin’(live) -Jay Z (The Jay-Z Unplugged disc is soo good! I’m still undecided about the Blueprint 2.)

16. 20 Dollars- Angie Stone (The best song to listen to when you’re fed up.)

17. The Scientist- Coldplay (Does this song make everyone cry? Man, I’m such a girl sometimes.)

Hey jenn..what in your mix?

A General To-Do List For Those Who May Be Bored:

Watch: Wet Hot American Summer
Is it the movie of the year? No. Will it make you laugh? If you like laughing, then probably, yes.

Listen: Maserati “The Language Of Cities”
It makes working on your computer with your headphones on more pleasant than working on your computer, sans headphones, while listening to your co-workers extol the virtues of, say, J.Lo’s assets. Yeah, that’s right, I’m looking at you Matt & Ry. I think she’s hot too! Enough, now.

Read: You Shall Know Our Velocity (Dave Eggers)
Cause at times you’ll think protagonist Will crawled into your head and stole your inner monologue.

WWW: 24 Recap
Missed the last episode of 24 cause your friends decided to drop by after a party and start throwing cheese around your apartment? No? Well, trust me when I say that it’s not easy to remove cheese that’s been mushed into your furniture. Browse the recap.

That’s me… in the pixel!

I don’t have much time… it’s the end o’the day and I’ve got a hefty schedule. Tomorrow’s my b-day… that’s right and I’m stoked to be eatin’ Ethiopian at my favourite dining establishment on the city, Chef Wondiy, with a bunch of my favourite people. As for X-mas, it’s not really my holiday and I absolutely refuse to partake in the madness that takes away from the most important thing about the season; spending time with the people you care about. Instead I will be busy baking lots’o'treats for the assorted gatherings. Anyway, I gotta run… but before I pass the conch onto Soph, I’m just gonna drop some links:

December 5th already?! I think I’m finally admitting to myself I’m a grinch. Maybe not a grinch who would steal Christmas, but red Oreos and Santa toilet seats don’t seem to get me that excited until about the 23rd. Am I alone here? Or is everyone else busy shopping?

I saw Standing In The Shadows of Motown last night with my pal e. I’m not sure if it lives up to the music industry buzz, but I always enjoy a good documentary. After getting to know the Motown hit machine - The Funk Brothers, I grabbed a taxi home. After I shared my “its worth seeing” movie review with the driver, he popped in a Motown mix. Lets just say - we were dancing in the seats!

You bet dude, I’m back to attack! Just spent two days in Philadelphia going to my first ever movie junket! It was really cool, so be sure to check back to InsideMuch later this week for all the details on my trip and info about the movie Drumline. The whole time I was in Philly I kept on singing ‘iiiin West Philadelphia, born n’ raised…’ and ‘Motownphilly back again’. I’m sure it wasn’t the least bit annoying to the people around me.

Oh and can I just take the opportunity to say how much the Guns N’ Roses show rocked my world last Friday? Seriously, I’ve been made fun of by pretty much everyone I know for going to that show, but I could care less. It was so much fun! The new band members sounded amazing, they played all the hits, there was tons of pyro and Axl was…charming. I know, weird eh? I totally thought he’d be all whiny and egotistical, but he was great! I must admit, I was secretly hoping that Slash was going to pop outta nowhere and rock the house. Will they ever reunite?
