What?s new?hmmmm?Well lately everyone around the building have been congratulating me because Conan gave me hug, I mean don?t get me wrong, the hug was cool and all that, but we didn?t get married. Well today is Friday and I?m gonna get my party on with some of Toronto?s finest selectors doing their thing, should be good time as always. Speaking of music, did anyone take a listen to Kanye West?s debut album? I must admit, it?s pretty dope and soulful at times. But kids don?t get it twisted -?Kanye West is not the first producer to lay down sped up soul samples on tracks and he?s definitely not the next Pete Rock.

I?m audi5 to get me my monthly pair of shoes.

Joan Jett is coming to our fair town for Canadian Music Week. That lady holds a special place in my Blackheart. She’s also going to be doing a DJ set at Mod Club on March 5th. I wonder what she’ll play.

I’m so glad February is almost over, albeit it’s one day longer this year. Thanks a lot, leap year. Anyway, that makes me one month closer to gardening, yay! yes, my thumbs are green and you know you want yours to be too. don’t fight it, now.

Is anybody going to see Kraftwerk? i truly am excited that they’re coming but have held back from buying my ticket cuz, well i guess cuz i’m cheap since i don’t want to pay $56 for a ticket. As my good friend’s mother once said, they better be sitting on my lap and singing in my ear for that price!

I am a virgin to the blog.  Hope I do not bore you readers too much.   I am just back at work from 10 days vacation. I love vacation but I think I need a vacation from my vacation.  I was in Alberta and British Columbia in the mountains on my plank.  I hit Lake Louise and then Fernie.  Fernie was heaven, my friend and I rose super early one day and hit first tracks in 30 cm of fresh snow, I am sounding a bit like Spicoli but fresh powder riding brings me much bliss.  The only bummer of being out of Toronto last week, was I missed DJ Premier, Pete Rock and CL Smooth and Prince Paul.   If you do not know these hip hop legends -then like KRS-one said “You Must Learn”.    But things just got better as Danger Mouse - has hit me up with the infamous Jay-Z’s The Black Album and The Beatles White Album mashing, “The Grey Album”, I will give you my prognosis later.

Friday night I went to see? The Flatliners, Hostage Life, Bombs Over Providence and Flashlight Brown at a bar across from Much HQ. All of a sudden Brandon from Goat Horn came up to tell me about the new video they made and tossed on their site. Dude. It’s gold.

Oh yeah, I also bumped into Avril Lavigne in the can. I thought about telling her how much I like the cover of Metallica’s ‘Fuel’ that was on her DVD…but then I figured she probably gets bugged all the time and just wanted to wash her hands and go.

I have to clear something up here…first of all I would NEVER wear those shoes that April put a pic up for (not that there’s anything wrong with them).? I’ve been wearing classic Chucks since I laid eyes on one of my first heroes and although I’ve tried to wean myself off of them it’s impossible. The end.

No not the end -?only the beginning to a lovely weekend. I am very excited to catch the Von Bondies show in Toronto tonight!? I’ve caught them live before and the show is a rock’n'roll extravaganza filled with shaggy hair, high heels and a neat little kit (Please no fighting at the show ladies, i.e. Sophie and April - that would be embarassing!)

Now AD may appear to know a little about me but I also have done some similar stalking and know that April has two feet of a different size and a very peculiar way of buying shoes.? You know what I’m talking about April!? And now I have a little secret to hold against you if your stalking get out of control.? hahahahahah (Turn your speakers up before you click that last link!)

Wow okay I just talked to Going Coastal host Matt Wells and he’s stuck in a giant snowstorm in Halifax!? Apparently the city has shut down and has declared a state of emergency.? Take care everyone on the East Coast!? May I suggest x-country skiing as a new hobby?? Nothing wrong with hours and hours of hot chocolate drinking, nothing!

I promised Soph-the-loaf (as April lovingly calls her) that I would email her my adventures from London… but the whole jet-lag thing is seriously killing me. I am SO tired and feel a little screwed up even though I have been here for 5 days now.

As for gossip (cause I know that’s really what you care about), we went to the Brit Awards on Tuesday and it was star-packed. We saw Beyonce, 50 Cent and Outkast rehearse… it was so funny because they had all these artists doing collabos for the show, but for the rehearsals some of the artists were not there so they had to use stand-ins who knew the choreography and had to sing with the other celebs. We had a good laugh since Beyonce’s stand in was a guy who looked really funny doing the ‘ug-oh’ dance. Beyonce came to his rescue half way through the song and he looked really relieved. Backstage, Beyonce admitted that she was pretty sick of performing that song and trying to reinvent that ‘ug-oh’ dance for award shows.

Justin Timberlake’s security was pretty tight at the Brits and they weren’t letting him do any interviews - I guess he’s pretty sick of getting asked about Janet’s boob. Pharrell freaked for Hannah Sung’s cool hair on the Brit Awards red carpet. He joked that it looked a lot like a certain spooky girl.

Our hotel is full of celebs right now - Pharrell and Chad are staying here and Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller had a private party here last night for the UK premiere of “Along Came Polly”. The papparazi is going crazy and were camped outside our hotel to get a good shot of Mrs. Pitt.? Unfortunately, I never got to see Brad. Maybe I’ll run into him in the elevator!

We got to sit down and chat with Kylie last night which was cool and today we’re hooking up with 50 Cent and G-Unit. Tonight we’re going on a sightseeing tour of London with The Ataris and the MUCH contest winner then we’re off to the Astoria to see the Ataris show.?

So…there will be PLENTY of stuff from London coming up on MUCH with all the things we’ve done. Check out the Brit Awards on MUCH this Sunday and don’t miss the Countdown show cause we shot plenty of stuff from backstage, on the red carpet and at the exclusive Brit Awards after-party space.

Well Kell-the-Smell, I didn’t catch Andrew W.K. but I did pick up tix for The Deadly Snakes & Von Bondies tomorrow night.? And to update you on my Nicole Green Stalking Project, it has been confirmed that NG?will be at the show.? I still don’t have any details on what she’ll be wearing but I’m thinking maybe the new Chucks?that she might buy today.Don’t ask me how I know, I’m just that good.

On Saturday night I’m thinking of going to Shi**y’s party (note that I’m slightly pissed off that I had to put **s where I would have put tt but Soph-the-Loaf insisted). [Ed. note. I'm slightly pissed off that April's potty mouth ends up being my burden. Cuss it up on your own blog, Cathy. It's on tomorrow night at the Von Bondies. It's ON.]? The nickname doesn’t have the same appeal when you have to censor it.? Bon voyage, Shi**y!

Censorship….can we please get over it!? Enough already.? I can’t get into it now, it only upsets me and I don’t want to ruin my makeup. But let me just say that the Canadian media has let me down….wait a second, I work in the Canadian media!? Where’s Ed?when I need him?

*sniff. Andrew WK is playing in Toronto tonight and I can’t go. I love the AWK so much and his shows are always so much fun! Rumour has it he’s dating Melissa Auf Der Maur. Does this mean he’s got a soft spot for Canadian ladies??Dude, I’d put up with the dog food breath…

this weekend i bought two great CDs, which if you haven’t heard yet, are worth checking out: The Bronx “White Drugs” and Sufjan Stevens “Greetings From Michigan: The Great Lake State”. Both were CDs I’d read about, so I found their music online, listened, liked and purchased. nice when it works out like that, huh?

finally, can’t stop listening to Franz Ferdinand. their vid for “take me out” is Much’s “uncharted” pick this week. preview clips from their cd in our listening lounge.
