Remember the 90s when this young actor was being touted as the next big thing after being in Woody Allen’s musical disaster ‘Everyone Says I Love You’ and then in Tim Burton’s wickedly absurd yet hilarious film ‘Mars Attack’? And remember when it was rumoured that he was Natalie Portman’s first bf?
Well this actor has made his comeback - kind of - As some of you might not know, the lovely skeletal looking fella in My Chemical Romance’s video ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’ is one-time ‘It’ actor Lukas Haas. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww yes, Lukas Haas, a truly gifted and underrated actor whose stardom quickly fell into the cracks of Hollywood’s forgotten sidewalks much like other talented folk such as, Anna Paquin, Rachel-Leigh Cook, Nick Stahl and so forth. So why the eff am I talking about him? Well because I think his talents are going unnoticed and I’ve rekindled my love for this indie actor who most recently appeared in the film-noir ‘Brick.’ So if you may, please do enjoy my photo homage to this actor (who shockingly enough is actually 31!). Yes, he’s made some classic appearances in some of our fave videos.
My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade

Outkast - Roses (He was one of the Love Below Members)

His MOD Appearance:

Yes, it’s hard to believe that I just put this much effort into Lukas Haas. AND last but not least, if you wanna read the interview that the lovely Wendeh did with my future husband then please check this out.

If you visited MuchMusic.com last week you’d have seen that Amy Winehouse was our MuchRadar Artist Of The Week - this sexy, sultry British singer/songwriter is all the rage in the UK and her popularity is finally starting to catch on here in Canada.
I know I’m prone to exaggeration but I’m being factual when I say her single “Rehab” has been on repeat for the past week. iTunes says it’s had over 300 listens. I can’t get enough. When I’m not listening to the song, I’m singing it or at least thinking about when I can hear it next.
Well get this - just announced, Amy is coming to Toronto!!!
March 23 @ Mod Club Theatre, Toronto
On sale Thursday, February 1 (that’s tomorrow!). I cannot wait.

I’ve got some shocking news for you. I don’t know if you’ll be able to take it. Big breath, now…ok. So, Pink was on MOD yesterday. AND Timbaland. I know, I know - it’s simply astounding. Unheard of. Um, I’ll stop overdramatizing about now and just show you some pictures, mmkay?

PS: We have a shiny new Flickr account now, so check out more Pink photos and stuff from other stuff and stuff too!

Here’s what’s interesting in new releases today!
Lily Allen - Alright, Still. I *cannot* believe this is JUST making its debut here in North America. This album has been jurassic in the UK for the past year. My favourite tracks: LDN, Everything’s Just Wonderful, Friday Night. It’s just such a terrific album. Acquire it!
Paolo Nutini - These Streets. I don’t know that much about this guy, but MuchAdrenaline producer Billy Hussey likes it. So if Billy likes it, then you too must like it. Also, he’s 19 and Scottish. And if it’s not Scottish, it’s crap.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Some Loud Thunder. Sophomore album from Pitchfork favourites CYHSY. Teaser tracks have been streaming on the band’s MySpace page for a few months now if you want a preview! I saw these guys when they came through Toronto last and they didn’t disappoint!
Katharine McPhee - Katharine McPhee. Debut album from last season’s American Idol runnerup. I voted for her (did YOU?), and it wasn’t just because she has a solid name (ha!). If the record sales for Idol finalist Chris Daughtry’s album “Daughtry” are any indication of how much people LOVE Idol, this album is going to be HUGE.

Omg! I was watching Pink’s video “Nobody Knows” on MOD and I had a total Eureka moment. Now, this photo doesn’t really show it, but Pink IS STARBUCK FROM BATTLESTAR GALACTICA! Holy flippin’ viper ships and sexy cylons, there it is. And PS, Battlestar rules. No, YOU’RE the nerd.

Tis my duty to bring you all things, or at least some things, or hey, one or two things interesting. Or noteworthy. So anywhey, here’s a niblet of a thing - just when you’re probably tiring of JT’s “My Love” (BRING ON “What Goes Around” already, I say!), Klaxons have revamped it! It’s shiny all over again! So check ‘er out, Klaxons covering “My Love”!

Holy pup sh*t!
This year’s Virgin Fest news has started to trickle in over at Emerge’s blog - an announcement has been made about the Vancouver edition, to take place on May 20/21 with Toronto’s festival to follow in early fall on September 8/9. It’s too early to know who’s confirmed for the fall dates, but for now, chew on this Vancouver lineup (so far):
Muse (!!)
The Killers
Billy Talent
AFI
Hot Hot Heat
So that’s six artists. With over 30 promised, there are 24 spots left to fill. I can only speculate, but here is my dream lineup/speculation for the big acts, based on artists that are buzzing/releasing stuff this year:
Radiohead
M.I.A.
Bloc Party
Interpol
Arcade Fire
Tokyo Police Club
Kaiser Chiefs
Linkin Park
k-os
Blur
Massive Attack (pending visa application :P)
Malajube
The MuchMusic.com team had a phenomenal time at last year’s Virgin Fest - I can’t wait for this year’s festival! If my lineup predictions come true, I may die of an aneurysm.

To tell the truth, I don’t have that much to be angry about, but for some reason, the angry scream of defiant lyrics gets my fist pumping and my heart pounding every time. Even more than this, I love the angry punk singing the lyrics.
I’m Not Ok - My Chemical Romance
Sure, sure, Gerard’s a total cutie. But he’s also spastic, gangly and totally effed up. But you know why we love him? Because he’s spastic and effed up with complete and total conviction. Look at the naked desperation in his eyes when he sings “I’m Not Ok” and I bet you’ll never look away.
In The End - Linkin Park
Critics hated you, Linkin Park, but that didn’t stop your record sales. You knew that everybody feels a little bit damaged and everyone has been hurt. “In The End” works either as a breakup anthem or as a “my parents are getting divorced” lament. It’s like they’re singing my whole life.
Boiled Frogs - Alexisonfire
Despite the fact this vid is the first time you can really see George’s face - his looks aren’t why I love him. George’s lungs release pure distortion, that’s all I need.
The Image of The Invisible - Thrice
Resist singing along - I dare you. Since you can’t do it because it’s impossible, join in the onslaught and demand to be heard. Feel better now? I know you do.
Prayer of the Refugee - Rise Against
What’s more awesome than an angry punk? An angry punk that cares. Rise Against scream for change and make me want to be a better global citizen.
Try Honesty - Billy Talent
Some people don’t believe in love at first sight, and neither do I. But the first time I heard “Try Honesty”, I was a fan.
