Akon was just here and stuff. He was all performing and sh*t. He threw down “I Wanna Love You” (exclusive for MuchAXS!!), “Smack That” and that new song, which at this point I am too lazy to look up but you know, the one that sounds like “Ignition”. I was quite impressed with his live skills, which I saw while taking THESE PHOTOS! Yay!

This is where Akon is about to show Leah how he smacks that. She’s a little concerned. (See the full smack here).

What’s that Simon Cowell? I can’t heearrr you!!!!

Last night’s Oscars started some strange new traditions. First of all, they wanted to stress the importance of the Oscars, so they changed the size of the award. Winners now receive a 50′ tall statue, seen in this photo:

Second, if you win an award, you have to goose step in time with your entourage to the stage.

Third, and most bizzare, stars now compete in a head-to-head shadow puppet tournament. Penelope Cruz showed excellent shadow puppet form.

Here, 3 stars collaborate to create a scene of a well endowed man chasing the bus he just missed:

As with all award shows, there were a few awkward moments. John Travolta made no attempt to hide his disdain for Queen Latifah’s cover of “My Humps”.

and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when these two showed up on stage with no necks due to an unfortunate pre-show rehearsal accident.

But there were good times to be had too.

Jack Nicholson won the Britney Spears look-a-like contest:

All in all, a great show.

HOW did I not know about this???

Wes Anderson is making a stop motion adaptation of Roald Dahl’s “The Fantastic Mr. Fox”??!?!? WHA? Can you say, “NOW, PLEASE”? Two of my creative gods in one project = necessity.

Whoa! Best Week Ever posted this today. If you’ve never seen a human skateboard, you haven’t lived. Obviously.

Late last night I was on a quest for Michael Jackson’s Thriller video (after watching this wedding party perform it) and all that was coming up in the search results was this Indian version of the video - like dozens of results.

Everyone in the video is South Asian, and the song isn’t even the original Thriller - it’s their own version of the song with different lyrics (I wonder what they’re singing - at some points it actually sounds like “Kill her! Kill her!).

The result is an angry, frenzied choreography not unlike the original Thriller that will provide DAYS of hilarity. The part between 2:02 and 2:15 makes me burst into hysterics. Watch & weep!

Thank you, gods of internet, for brightening my day. What we have here is one of my favourite SNL moments of all time, and I present it for your enjoyment:

When I first clicked on this link to Rap Cat, I was like, crazy laughing. It was only two minutes later when I realized that Rap Cat may very well be the next Crazy Frog, and I was NOT pleased about Crazy Frog’s astounding success, I tell you whut. Will Rap Cat be the next major novelty star? Let’s hope not. But for now, throw on ye olde headphones and check out the site before Rap Cat hooks up with Akon and everything just goes to hell.

Tracks from the upcoming new Nine Inch Nails album are appearing online in an obvious, but very cool viral marketing campaign. They’ve set up fake sites and fake music leaks, creating huge internet buzz and hype for the new album.

Take a look at that site. There are more tracks to download than just the 3 obvious ones. Can you follow the clues to get the phone number and hear the super creepy recording?

Lily Allen was just here, and she was as edible as a decked-out sundae. I love this girl. When she sings, “I wanna be able to eat spaghetti bolognese and not feel bad about it for days and days and days”, I want to give her a big ass HIGH TEN.
