2012 JUNO Award Nominations Announced

The JUNO Award nominations were announced this morning for this year’s award show at Ottawa’s Scotiabank Place. The show will be hosted by William Shatner, and broadcasted live on April 1 on CTV. Set to rock the stage so far for one incredible night are Hedley, City and Colour, Nickelback, Deadmau5, Feist, and 2012 Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees, Blue Rodeo.
Some of the nominated artists announced during this morning’s press conference at the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, include Drake, City and Colour, Hedley, Feist, and Nickelback who each have four nominations. Drake, City and Colour and Feist are competing with one another for Artist of the Year.
But a new face who’s ahead of the pack is newcomer Dan Mangan. He has four nominations as well, including New Artist of the Year. Mangan is also one of 99 first-time JUNO Award nominees this year. Meanwhile, multi-JUNO Award winners Avril Lavigne, Deadmau5, and Michael Bublé each received an impressive three nominations, while facing off against each other in the category for JUNO Fan Choice Award.
Hey Rosetta! and The Sheepdogs are also nominated for New Group of the Year.

Artist of the year: Drake, Justin Bieber, Avril Lavigne, Nickelback, Michael Buble.
New artist of the year: Alyssa Reid, Dan Mangan, Diamond Rings, Jordan and Lindi Ortega.
Album of the year: Drake, Justin Bieber, Avril Lavigne, Michael Buble, Nickelback.
International album of the year: Lady Gaga, Adele, Coldplay, Rihanna, LMFAO.
Group of the year: Down with Webster, Hedley, Sam Roberts Band, Arkells, Nickelback.
New Group of the Year: The Sheepdogs, Hey Rosetta, Braids, Mother Mother, The Rural Alberta Advantage.
Fan Choice: Deadmau5, Drake, Justin Bieber, Arcade Fire, City and Colour, Hedley, Avril Lavigne, Geanette Reno, Michael Bublé, Nickelback.
