October 23rd, 2013
Wednesday. It’s slightly better than Monday and Tuesday but knowing the weekend is still two days away makes today pretty much suck. So we thought we’d brighten your day (and our day) with 5 new songs that makes us feel good.
You’re going to go from this:
1. Arcade Fire – “Afterlife”
We’re only 6 days away from the release of Arcade Fire’s fourth studio album, Reflektor. It’s going to be a long 6 days but good thing we have “Afterlife” to tide us over. This song feels like Arcade Fire are giving you a giant bear hug on a cold Fall day. Put your headphones on for this one, it’s perfect.
2. Lady Gaga – “Do What U Want” ft. R. Kelly
I can’t believe I’m actually writing about a Lady Gaga song but when I saw R. Kelly was attached to it, I had to give it a shot. The song is surprisingly good. I’ve never been to a club before but I bet this is a “club banger.”
3. Kurt Vile – “Feel My Pain”
Lady Gaga to Kurt Vile. I know. It’s weird. But get over it. On November 19, The Philadelphia native is releasing a deluxe edition of his fantastic album Wakin On A Pretty Daze. Deluxe Daze (Post Haze) features the new song “Feel My Pain.” This is another song you’ll need your headphones for. I love how you can hear his hands sliding from chord to chord on his guitar.
4. Kelela – “Go All Night”
R&B is totally in right now and it doesn’t look like it’s going out of style any time soon. Kelela’s “Go All Night” is featured on a compilation albums that Solange is releasing on her label Saint Records. You can get Saint Heron on November 12.
5. Pusha-T – “Trouble on My Mind” ft. Tyler, the Creator (Rustie remix)
Scottish musician Rustie took Pusha T’s “Trouble On My Mind” to whole other level. I like it.
This is you and your friends listening to these songs and having an awesome Wednesday:
