We’ve been waiting for what feels like forever for a new Beyonce album (okay, two years, whatever). But, according to a new interview with producer Pharrell, we’re gonna have to wait a little big longer.
“She’s very particular. She’s a Virgo. And she’s not going to put it out until it’s ready and feels like it’s right to her,” he tells Billboard in the interview. “She’s got a very specific taste.”
Even though Pharrell continues on to describe the album as a mindblowing piece of work, we’re growing a tiny bit impatient. Fear not, though, to calm ourselves down from having all of the terrible breakdowns, we’ve compiled a list of things you can do while you wait for some new tunes from Queen Bey.
1. Listen to Beyonce’s first four albums.
This isn’t the same as listening to new music from Beyonce, but it’s Beyonce music nonetheless! Revisit some of the pop star’s biggest hits including Crazy In Love, Halo, Run The World (Girls) and Countdown!
Here’s a start:
2. Finally learn the Single Ladies dance.
I can’t be the only one who hasn’t mastered the entire thing yet, right?
3. Listen to some other jams from Beyonce’s sister Solange or her husband Jay Z.
Beyonce may produce some great music, but she belongs to quite the talented family tree. Sister Solange put out an EP called True not so long ago and husband Jay Z put out his new album Magna Carta Holy Grail earlier this year so even though we have yet to receive a new Beyonce album, her family has put out some phenomenal music worthy of your attention.
4. Watch Beyonce’s HBO documentary Life Is But A Dream.
If you haven’t seen this wonderful doc about Beyonce, we highly encourage you to drop everything you’re doing and watch it now. Not only is this a great way to pass time while waiting for a new Beyonce album, but it will get you so much more psyched for it. Heads up, though, you might want to have a box of tissues nearby while you watch this as she discusses her miscarriage and the birth of her daughter for the first time.
5. Work on your colouring skills.
Toronto-based artists Team Art (www.teamart.ca) are bringing back the art of colouring books. With fun themes that adults can fangirl over such as Game of Thrones, Mad Men and, of course, Beyonce, you can kill tons of time colouring in your fave moments in Beyonce’s career from baby Bey to her Super Bowl performance.
6. Watch this amazing medley of Beyonce hits by Pentatonix.Tweet
