As if the video for Demi Lovato’s Give Your Heart a Break wasn’t amazing enough, we get a behind the scenes look too? The video takes us on set and we get exlusive shots from the shoot. The video was directed by New York based director and photographer Justin Francis. Francis has made music videos for other powerful pop songstresses in the past like Alicia Keys and Kelly Clarkson as well as Canadian rockers Nickelback. Francis explains that the concept of the video is the story of a couple who build a life together and end up separating. Portraying the girlfriend, Demi looks through photos that they’ve taken while they were happy and decides to win the boyfriend back in a grand gesture of her love.

According to Demi, “What’s going to make this video special is that you get to see [her] more vulnerable side”. Demi’s inspiration lies in the strong and confident role that the girlfriend takes in the story. In the video she says, “It’s not your typical video where the guy does something for the girl, it’s the girl [who] is wanting to make sure the guys knows that she loves him and isn’t gonna break his heart”.
