The family of late R&B singer Aaliyah have come out and said that they are not supporting the rumoured new posthumous album, a project that’s headed by Toronto rapper Drake.

On Sunday, Drake released a posthumous collaboration with Aaliyah on a track called Enough Said, taking unreleased vocal tracks from the singer, who died in 2001 in a plane crash. The rapper plans on working with his producer Noah ’40′ Shebib on an entire album.

Aaliyah’s brother Rashad Haughton told The Guardian: “There is no official album being released and supported by the Haughton family.”

Not only is Aaliyah’s family not supportive of the project, but the singer’s producer Timbaland and rapper Missy Elliott have both criticized it, saying that they should be involved if plans are going forward with this. Reports do say that Drake has gotten in touch with Timbaland, though, and he will apparently produce two songs on the album with the rest of the work going to Shebib.
