We interviewed Avril Lavigne a few weeks ago about her clothing line Abbey Dawn and we loved how involved she is in every aspect of the business. She helps with the designs, meets with store owners and now she’s even stepping in front of the camera to model for Abbey Dawn’s spring 2012 campaign!

The new ads show Avril working a tomboy chic look, deftly mixing tough-looking and girly pieces to create her own unique style. We’re loving the way she paired a denim jacket, over-sized tee and embellished leggings with an animal print bootie (SO #trending!) though she could probably also pull off the same look with sneakers or chunky boots. Another pic features Avril in a super cute tank and pleated skirt (a look we saw all over the runways this year!). It’s not quite the cheerleader look but not quite prep school either; call it “rocker chick” with a twist.

Abbey Dawn is expanding this spring and will introduce a broader lifestyle collection focusing on denim, dresses, skirts, handbags, footwear and eyewear. There’s also buzz Avril is working on her first-ever collection of clothes for men! As for the new ads, expect to see them in magazines and on billboards beginning this fall.
