ABDC Episode 6 Recap – Ga Ga Oh Ra Ra Rah!

March 8th, 2010

ABDC

Wowowowowowowow! Did you guys watch ABDC last night? OMG peeps! The episode started with Mario Lopez announcing a major glitch in the voting mechanism. ABDC decided that rather than risk incorrect results, no crews would be going home this week! At the end of last night’s performance, the judges, for the first time EVAH, chose one crew that would be safe from elimination next week. Schweet!

But! There’s always a but. Next week, TWO crews will say buh-bye to ABDC and walk it out. Pressure!! Let’s see how the remaining seven crews deal with this week’s challenge of creating a performance to a Lady Gaga song.

Static Noyze

Static Noyze incorporated a table, a bubble suit, money and vogueing into their routine for Beautiful, Dirty, Rich. Omarion felt like the performance started out slow but picked up in energy. JC was impressed by the crew’s use of the table and Lil Mama thought that Static Noyze did a great job with their performance and working with their difficult costumes (for realz, how do you dance while covered in bubbles?).

Blueprint Cru – Bad Romance

Blueprint Cru

Dudes…dudes…you need to watch Blueprint Cru tearin’ up the stage to Bad Romance! I CAN NOT stress this enough! It was amazeballs! JC called it the best performance of ABDC Season 5 and said that Canadians can play hockey and dance. Um, yeah! Omarion said that he was unsure of how far the crew would make it in the show but they proved themselves with their Lady Gaga routine. Srsly, what show is he watching? Is he getting BC confused with another crew, because they have killed it every week! Omarion, we gotsta talk.

Jungle Boogie

Lil Mama thought the group did a great job and was impressed with their consistent versatility in their performances. Omarion and JC cautioned the group on the parts of their routine that got messy, ie. falling out of handstands. Why do crews keep doing handstands? No one has mastered them yet!!!

Heavy Impact

JC was impressed with Heavy Impact’s athletic choreography for Love Game, but was disappointed that some points of the routine lacked creativity. Lil Mama thought the routine was cute and Omarion said he didn’t know how he felt about guys on poles, but that the crew did a good job.

Hype 5-0

hype-5-0-episode-6

Hype 5-0 started their performance strongly with one crew member in a giant dress that the rest of the crew danced underneath. Things went slightly downhill after that, with Omarion saying that the choreography was too safe and JC saying that the performance was good but too similar to previous weeks.

Poreotixs

JC was impressed with Poreotixs and their avant-garde routine, but did find that the middle of the performance got a little boring. Omarion was impressed with the crew’s confidence in their performance and Lil Mama commended the group on their ability to take last weeks critique into consideration and dance in sync with one another.

Saltare

Lil Mama thought that Saltare’s routine to Just Dance was a big recovery from last weeks mistake-ridden performance. She also said that the group needs to loosen up when they dance, but that their tricks were stupendous (srsly, she said stupendous…don’t hear that much these days). JC said that the audience is watching the crew evolve every week and continues to be impressed with their mad rope skills (my words, he was more eloquent).

At the end of the episode Blueprint Cru was announced as the only crew that would be safe from elimination next week! They’re probably thanking their lucky Timbits since voting is closed in Canada and it’s only going to get harder for the only non-American crew to get votes. Go Blueprint! (Not that I’m bias, or anything…)
