Action Bronson Channels The ’60s in Easy Rider Video Teaser

August 18th, 2014

2013 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Day 2

Action Bronson has released a teaser trailer for his new video Easy Rider and boy does it make me excited. It is his first single from his upcoming album Mr. Wonderful which is made with producer duo Party Supplies.

The video is inspired by the movie of the same name, Easy Rider starring Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda. The 1969 movie is about two bikers who travel through the American South. The movie became famous because of its depiction of the hippie movement, drug use, sex and did I mention drug use? Especially marijuana use, which happens to be is one of Action Bronson’s favorite past times.

I have such a soft spot for Action Bronson. I wasn’t a huge fan of his early work from Dr. Lecter and Well-Done, but once the Brooklyn MC started working with the Party Supplies and released Blue Chips and Blue Chips 2 my love affair with Bronson began.

There’s not many details out about the new album but in an interview with the NME, Bronson stated: “The album is sounding incredible. The whole album is a standout. I don’t care about individual songs, I’m trying to make a complete, classic project. I just do my music uninfluenced by anybody else, or current trends, and it comes together at the end. Nothing needs to have a f–King theme all the time. This is just rap. I’m not trying to make people think I’m some sort of scientific wizard or inspirational poet. F–k that! It’s just happy, funny, rugged, rough rap.”
