Adam Levine has signed on to make his big screen debut alongside Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo and Hailee Steinfeld in the musical and romantic comedy Can A Song Save Your Life?. Levine will play Knightley’s boyfriend n the film, which will follow their characters as they move to New York in hopes of becoming professional musicians. Ruffalo will play a record producer who discovers Knightley’s character.
The film boasts heavyweight names in front and behind the camera, with Judd Apatow slated to produce and Once writer and director John Carney to direct. In 2007, Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for their track Falling Slowly from Carney’s Once. It’s unclear yet whether Levine and his band will be submitting music for the Can A Song Save Your Life? soundtrack.
