Miley, Charlie and more!
February 11th, 2014
It’s February, the year is still off to a bit of a slow start but fear not, we’ve got a handful of new jams that you absolutely need to listen to now. Check out the following six tracks and let us know what you’re currently listening to!
Miley Cyrus — Adore You (Cedric Gervais remix)
We adore the original track off of Cyrus’ 2013 hit album Bangerz, but this remix of her latest single definitely takes it up to a Bangerz-level club jam.
Karen O feat. Ezra Koenig — The Moon Song
This Oscar-nominated song from the film Her gets a fresh new take, adding Vampire Weekend leader Ezra Koenig in to create a duet even more beautiful than the original track.
Allie X — Catch
Allie Hughes, who now goes by Allie X, is a Toronto native who now resides in L.A., but her recent time Stateside working with some of pop’s biggest names has definitely rubbed off on her. Allie X’s debut single Catch is a saccharine confection of pop perfection and Hughes’ strongest work yet. We’re definitely beaming with pride right now and simply can’t wait to see what’s next.
Iggy Azalea feat. Charli XCX — Fancy
Two of our fave up-and-comers rapper Iggy Azalea and pop artist Charli XCX team up for this amazing new track, a hard-hitting R&B number that combines Azalea’s spitfire verses and Charli’s extremely catchy choruses. So, so perfect.
Neneh Cherry feat. Robyn — Out Of the Black
The legendary Neneh Cherry taps Swedish pop star Robyn for this Four Tet-produced track that will be featured on Cherry’s upcoming album, her first in 18 years. This isn’t the epic pop number’s we’re used to hearing from Robyn, but any new Robyn is alright with us.
Foxtrott — There Is A Light That Never Goes Out (The Smiths cover)
Montreal’s Foxtrott gives a jaw-droppingly good performance of this Smiths classic (remember this song from 500 Days of Summer?) and one listen to this hauntingly beautiful cut will soon turn to five, which will turn to 10 and before you know it, it will become the only thing you’ll listen to all week. Beware of such greatness.
