Aesop Rock “Cycles to Gehenna” (video)

Next to the brute physicality of “ZZZ Top,” any video Aesop Rock released would appear to be a tender follow up. “Cycles to Gehenna” puts choreography front and centre and features an intimate, beatless, breakdown verse. That being said, these ballerinas are even more hardcore than The Rite of Spring (and that caused a riot). Combine these babes in black with the B-movie aesthetics, motorcycle scenes and Aesop’s beard, and you’ve got a film with some hefty street cred. I certainly think they could take both the Jets and the Sharks. This is off Aesop’s critically acclaimed, and commercially successful, Skelethon record.
