Akon records song for Africa

Akon has released a new charity single to raise money for young people in Africa.

Named “Oh Africa,” the song also features Keri Hilson as well as 16 young musicians from places such as Turkey, China and Tanzania.

The singer explained why he wanted to release a song for Africa.

“People just need help, simple and plain, and I think when you just put all this red tape around helping people, it defeats the purpose of helping them, because by the time you get past all the paperwork, they probably won’t be around to even benefit from the help.”

“Oh Africa” is now available to buy on iTunes.
