Album Anticipation!

January 9th, 2006

So, now that 2005 has safely (and finally) been put to rest, we can start looking forward to a fruitful 2006 full of highly-anticipated new albums. I’m literally squealing with glee just waiting for these albums to make an appearance:

Richard Ashcroft (January 24)
Cat Power (January 24)
Arctic Monkeys (February 21)
Bloc Party (February 21)
Mogwai (March 7)
Morrissey (March 21)
Lady Sovereign (Spring)
Keane (May 9)
Interpol (Spring/Summer)
Ian Brown (Summer)
Radiohead (Summer)

And also at some point in 2006, new ones from Blur, Charlatans, Franz Ferdinand, Ned’s Atomic Dustbin (first album in 11 years!) and Guns ‘N Roses. The last one is especially exciting because as you know we have all been eagerly anticipating the next tome in G ‘N R’s discography, “Chinese Democracy”. Slash spoke out and assured fans that Axl’s masterpiece would indeed be out this spring.

And some others that you might like:
My Chemical Romance (March 21)
Britney Spears (March)
Pink (March 28)
Linkin Park (Spring)
Avril Lavigne (Spring)
Red Hot Chili Peppers (May 9)
Justin Timberlake (Summer)
Fall Out Boy (Fall)
Coldplay (Fall/Winter)

And: Ciara, Nelly Furtado, Lauryn Hill & The White Stripes.

As you know, all of these release dates are subject to change, but do keep an eye out!

Oh, and in case you haven’t gotten your fill of Top Lists from 2005, go here and read a mind-numbing collection of the web’s best lists.
