Alexz Johnson: The new voice of Degrassi

For three years, BC born Alexz Johnson wowed critics and fans with her acting and singing talent as Jude Harrison on Epitome’s Instant Star. Since the show ended in 2007, Alexz has been working on her solo career, releasing Voodoo in 2010 and a remix of the album, titled Reloaded, in 2011. Johnson made a return to her Epitome roots this year when she was given the honour of re-recording the opening track for Season 11 of Degrassi.

We caught up with Alexz and talked about this season of Degrassi, working with Epitome founder Stephen Stohn, what’s next for Alexz and whether we’ll ever see Jude Harrison in the halls of Degrassi.
