Alice In Wonderland A Box Office Beauty

Alice in Wonderland broke two big box office records this weekend when it brought in $210.3 million worldwide. That makes it both the biggest winter premiere (first 3 months of the year) and the biggest opening weekend for a 3D film. Yup, it even beat out Avatar which took in $77 million in its first weekend.

Alice in Wonderland also stands out among North American box office earnings. It had the sixth-biggest North American opening weekend ever.

The trippy adaptation starring Johnny Depp and directed by Tim Burton blasted analysts predictions of a $70-$100 million box office tally.
