Can Myles Kennedy fill Robert Plant’s shoes?

Here’s the deal: Matt Wells was interviewing Dee Snider for a new episode of MuchMoreMusic’s Where You At Baby when the Snides (who shares a manager with Robert Plant) dropped a BOMB. Are you ready for this?

Led Zeppelin will go on tour, but they may not tour with Robert Plant. Instead, they’ve got the lead singer from Alter Bridge waiting in the wings - and if Plant turns down the fajillions of dollars, Myles Kennedy will step in. WHAT!!!

Straight from the horse’s mouth:

So I ask you this: how much do your excitement levels drop for this tour, knowing that Myles Kennedy could be fronting a pack of legends? Is it like when INXS found a new singer and then nobody cared because who wants to hear Not-Michael-Hutchence sing “Devil Inside”?

And more importantly: would you buy tickets?

PS: You can watch the Where You At Baby episode with Dee Snider on Sunday, December 21 at 9pm ET or watch the whole shebang online.

  1. Heck yeah, I’d buy tickets! Frickin’ Led Zeppelin is my favorite band of all time! Alter Bridge is one of my favorite current bands. Myles Kennedy has a phenomenal voice, I have all the faith that he can stand with these guys. Obviously, Robert Plant would be ideal, but since he’s being a baby… heck yeah bring on Myles!!

  2. Miles From Alterbridge Is Possibly the best selection & One Of The Best Vocalist In Rock n Roll. This Would Bring Back The Edge That Plant Lost Through out the Years.. & This Combination Certainly Cannot Be compared To INXS. Ill Take Miles Any Day To Jam With !

  3. No way. Plant is the only one who can sing those songs-he wrote a lot of them and has that connection no one else does. Also, the Plant-Page dynamic, when it’s on, is unmatchable.
Give Plant some time. Right now he’s working with Alison. Maybe after that he’ll tour with Zep. In any case, there are always DVDs of their concerts to lose yourself in…

  4. i think who cares the whole band is a bunch of sellouts

  5. just fucking with ya led zeppelin are thee greatest thing to have ever happen in the entire history of music
