America’s Best Dance Crew Season 6: Round 2

Round Two kicked off with the most surprising dance moves EVAH! From pole dancing (not the duh-tee stripping kind) to a group of children dancing (believe me, you’ll never stereotype them as “kids” again) ABDC always proves it puts whoever can pull of the best moves on stage.

This week Ke$ha challenged each group with a specific song choice to use when they compete. Can I just say, she choose well! If you missed them, you can watch the full performances RIGHT HERE.

FootworkKINGz – Tik Tok
I loved this crew because even though their claim to fame is their feetwork, they used their whole body to dance! To quote one of the judges – it was NASTY! They did moves I didn’t think you could do, they used the stage in all kinds of different ways, they were energetic, they hit the ground running and they were AMAZING! I can’t wait to see what they do next week.

787 Crew – Blow
It’s pretty tragic when the night before the competition one of your crew lands in the hospital. But the 787 Crew worked through the night and re-did their choreography to make it six guys instead of seven…and they pulled it off. They were great, they were on point, and I think they’ll last pretty long. I hope their other member can join the team so we can all see what the entire crew can do.

Iconic Boys – Your Love Is My Drug
In a word – CUTENESS! These are kid-dancer, and boy, do they break your heart. Playing in the big leagues, working dance moves like professionals and even adding humour to their performance (they’re from Jersey, so they channeled “The Situation” and even sported his abs!) made them a team to root for. Not because they’re kids; but because child or adult – if you can rock the stage, you can rock the stage. And they most certainly can.

Instant Noodles – Dirty Picture
For a group of Taiwanese dancers from California, they did an okay job. Personally, I don’t think they broke any new ground and they could be interchangeable from the several other all-male acrobatic dancers we’ve seen on this show before. Maybe it’s because they were missing a member on stage we didn’t get the full feel of their moves (five dancers looks a little sparse). I think the 787 Crew did a much better job with acrobatic jumps. But the judges liked them, so they’re staying put. For now.

ELIMINATED: JAG6ED – Sleazy
I so don’t agree with this decision. After hyping up ABDC’s never had pole dancers before, well, they can hardly brag about it now after they’ve eliminated them. And I thought they did an amazing job keeping the attention on the pole and classy moves while having three girls constantly moving on the grounds. Even the song was a perfect fit! If anyone should have been eliminated, it should have been Instant Noodles – like, what new dynamic did they bring? Nothing I haven’t seen before.
