ICONic Boyz, I aM mE and Phunk Phenomenon get challenged by Season 5 winners Poreotix. The twist? We’ve got all three completely different dance crews doing the exact same challenges to the exact same songs. Now that’s how you see who rises above!
Check out all the moves HERE, and then read the full recap below.
The show finally opened with a formal group dance, each crew dancing together doing the same moves, while still showing off their individuality. It totally set the tone for the episode, didn’t it?
Group Dance
Song: All of the Lights
When you have all the different crews dancing together, you see each of their strengths and weaknesses. Each team is strong in their own style: Phunk Phenomenon has the jumps and the footwork down, I aM mE has all the interesting, innovative moves and formations, and ICONic Boyz have the energy and the fun, playful moves.
But you also see their weaknesses: Phunk Phenomenon doesn’t really use their arms or upper body that much, I aM mE doesn’t spread out enough across the stage, and compared with these two, you can see ICONic Boyz aren’t as finessed in their dance moves.
It was Kanye West week and all the groups were met with the same songs and exact same challenges from Poreotix.
Challenge:
DOUGIE – everyone moving grooving at the same time
BOOGALOO – bringing your hip-movement up to your head,
ISOS – moving one part of your body without moving other parts
Songs: Kanye West Mash-up
Gold Digger
Love Locked Down
Touch the Sky

ELIMINATED: Phunk Phenomenon
I’m not surprised actually. They’re good dancers, but they didn’t make it creative enough. They didn’t use their upper body. Their feet work – AMAZING. Everything else – not as great.

ICONic Boyz
This crew definitely proved they deserve to be in the finale! Not only did they do they challenge, they delivered them like pros AND had fun with it. They totally worked it to the Kanye West mash-up!

I aM mE:
Right down to their slick blue costumes, there was not one single bad move in their entire routine! They were so CREATIVE! It was PERFECT! I gonna make my prediction from now – this team is going to win.
ORIGINAL PERFORMANCES:

ICONic Boyz
Theme: Iconic Dream
Song: Pitbull – Give Me Everything Tonight
They brought the glitz and glamour of coming to Hollywood for the first time to their performance. Picking a perfect song to match their moves, they brought a red carpet, and a “small-town-boy-turned-mega-superstar” vibe to their routine.

I aM mE
Theme: Ill and Mental
Song: they made their own!!
Totally ill and totally mental, they screwed picking a song and made their own! Which other crew did that? They reintroduced themselves as superheroes, and made each power a dance move (tell me you didn’t feel the wind when they were making wind with their dance moves). I still say they’re going to win!
What do you think? Was the right crew eliminated? Which crew is your favourite?
