American Idol out, X Factor in!

Don't judge me!

Peace out American Idol! Simon Cowell has announced that after nine seasons he is leaving his gig as Mr. Meanie Pants on the hugely successful show, American Idol. Fear not, contestants will still be able to have their self esteem and dreams simultaneously shattered by Cowell, who will be taking on the role of judge on the American version of his reality show X Factor.

X Factor is a singing competition that lets contestants of all ages perform on stage for an audience and three judges. Paula Abdul is rumoured to become an X Factor judge. Wait, how is this not American Idol?
