Amy Winehouse arrested for assault

Amy Winehouse has been arrested and charged with assault.

The singer turned herself in to police today for an incident that took place on the weekend at a London theatre.

Details are sketchy, but the British press is reporting that Winehouse began heckling the performers and then kicked the theatre manager in the groin when she was confronted about her behaviour.

She was released on bail and will return to court on January 20th.

Interesting note: Winehouse was charged under the name Amy Civil, which has sparked rumours that she’s definitely reconciled with her ex-husband Blake.
