The house that Amy Winehouse was discovered dead inside on July 23, 2011, is now up for sale. The home in north Camden, where Winehouse lived before her tragic death, quickly become the site of a vigil for the singer after her passing.
While the Winehouse family had initially intended to keep the home as the headquarters of a charity set up in Amy’s name, they have now decided to sell the home. A spokesperson for the family told UK newspaper The Sun, “Amy loved that house but none of the family felt it appropriate that they should live in it. It was not practical to keep it empty while paying for its upkeep. It is a wonderful place and will be a happy family home for someone.”
The three bedroom house is described as “substantial and impressive” and holds an asking price of $4.3 million.
