Amy’s (wine)House of Hair

Having lived in Toronto for a few years now, and being a regular transit rider, I have definitely seen my share of cracked-out homeless people. It is all incredibly sad and it mirrors the crumbling society we live in, that our outreach programs just aren’t reaching far enough. It is because of this, that I am terribly saddened and down-right perplexed by THIS VIDEO I just saw – one of Amy Winehouse, barefoot in a British train station, madly trying to fix the dirty beehive that is her, well, beehive. She is very reminiscent of the cracked-out homeless people I see on a regular basis – the frantic arm movements, the sinewy limbs. She thinks this is cool? Honey (no, not the honey that you obviously substitute as hair product – I’m using it as a term of endearment) – Honey, you need to find at least some flip-flops, some shampoo, and some dignity. Work into a lather. Rinse and repeat if necessary. In this case? Necessary.
