An Open Letter To Beck Hansen

Dear Beck,

I know you have a new album coming produced by Nigel Godrich coming out this fall. I just read about it in Billboard.com. I can’t wait to hear it. However, don’t think I’ve forgotten that you didn’t visit Toronto on your Guero tour. Because I haven’t.

I’ll have you know I faithfully checked your website’s news & tours page every week, waiting for an announcement, but no news came. And no, your “tack on” at the end of The Rolling Stones’ tour in a giant, formal venue at a price of over $100 a ticket doesn’t count as a Toronto tour date for me.

Haven’t we been good to you, Beck? We loved Sea Change even though it was such a departure. We came to your shows backed by the Flaming Lips even though they weren’t exactly what we were expecting. And we still love you even though you’re part of the Church Of Cruise.

Please, please tour again soon and stop by Toronto on the way, wontcha?
