Now, if you don’t know me already, then you probably don’t know how obsessed I am with the television show “Popular.” Bitchy catfights, discussions of how waif Gwenyth and the oh so clever references to all things related to pop culture. Yes, after two extremely great seasons the show got canned by the WB! You did hear that correctly, the network that had 7th Heaven on for over a decade, canned the one show that was truly ahead of its time. The show won awards from GLAAD and yes, even the Teen Freaking Choice Awards — Tell me how is this possible? The question that’s probably lingering on your mind – Why is she talking about the past? Because my friends, I think it’s time that we bring Popular back. I say, we gather all Popular fans and unite to bring this show back! I feel a revolution coming on….
Okay, now that I’ve let off a little steam, I can finally get back to why initially blogged. You see, I just had one of those “Shut Up” moments that Kat has on a weekly basis. So here’s the ‘did you know fact’ of the day:
The creators of Popular Ryan Murphy and Gina Matthews are the creative geniuses behind our fav drama Nip/Tuck and the very cute chick flicks, 13 Going on 30 and What Women Want.
Ha. You see WB, now known as the ridiculously named CW, if you kept Popular on board who knows what would’ve happened? I mean freaking Wentworth Miller was on the show and he was a member of the Glamazon – hello, can I say male cheerleader?
