Walt Disney studios have confirmed that four-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, will play opposite her mother in the upcoming film Maleficent, based on the character of the wicked queen in Sleeping Beauty. Elle Fanning, younger sister to actress Dakota, will play the fourteen-year-old version of Vivienne’s character, with the young Jolie-Pitt likely only appearing in flashbacks during the film.
Disney has released an official statement about Vivienne’s role in the film, saying “The Walt Disney Studios confirmed today that Angelina Jolie’s daughter Vivienne will play a minor role as the child version of Princess Aurora opposite her mother in “Maleficent” which hits theatres March 2014. The live-action film explores the origins of Disney’s most iconic villain, Maleficent, and what led her to curse Princess Aurora in Disney’s animated classic Sleeping Beauty.”
Angelina Jolie was first rumoured to be playing the lead role of Maleficent in 2010.Tweet
