Anna Kendrick has released a music video for the song When I’m Gone, a track the actress first performed in her role as rebellious college student turned A Capella singer Beca on 2012’s breakout comedy Pitch Perfect. In staying with the original version from the film, Kendrick performed the song again with plastic cups, but this time had an entire backing back of cup flippers.
The video, which was shot by Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore, features Kendrick as a waitress with dreams of seeing the world and leaving behind the tired diner she works in. Kendrick begins performing When I’m Gone and quickly gets some help from a very coordinated group of patrons, deciding by the end of the video that today is the day to leave her humble beginnings and see the world.
Kendrick’s Pitch Perfect cast mates were on hand during last night’s MTV Movie Awards, with host Rebel Wilson leading the opening performance by her Pitch Perfect castmates. Click here to check out a full gallery of the awards show, including the best moments from the red carpet.Tweet
