Hold up, readers, Imma let you finish reading but this is THE BEST BLOG POST OF ALL TIME. Okay, probably not. But we all remember that infamous speech, right?
In 2009, Kanye West rushed to the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards to interrupt Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech to declare Beyonce’s Single Ladies as one of the best videos OF ALL TIME. Okay, we’ll stop writing in caps now. Point being, it was a big deal.
Though on a smaller scale, Arcade Fire’s Win Butler tried to recreate this moment at last night’s YouTube Music Awards when Swift won the award for YouTube Phenomenon. The pop star wasn’t in attendance, but the Arcade Fire leader grabbed the mic from one of the recipients to let everyone know that the Harlem Shake video deserved the prize instead. Who knew Win Butler was such a funny guy?
