New Portishead Video - The Rip

Yes! Portishead just (subtly) announced the second single (and video) to be taken from their third album, Third and here's a first look at it.

The song's called The Rip, and if you've had a conversation with me about Portishead in the past two months you would already know that I think it's the best thing on the album. And possibly my favourite song they've ever done. Stunning.

The video's a pretty simple animation, nothing too special, but I feel as though the song doesn't need a fancy accompaniment. It's just too beautiful on its own and anything too flashy would detract from the beauty of the song.
