Matt Wells: Lost In The 80s

So apparently Perez Hilton has also just pimped this artist (I wouldn't know because I have no interest in ever checking out his website), but if this is true, he's picked some kick ass music to promote so I'll give him credit for that at least. (BLEH-just threw up in my mouth a little).

ANYWAY...

The Lost Fingers from Quebec have just released a new album called Lost In The 80s. It's f*ckin' brilliant. Take all your favorite or even most hated hits from the 80s, mix them with the vibe of Django Reinhardt (one of the world's most renowned jazz guitar players) and you have the Lost Fingers. That's not ALL they do - they don't just play 80s songs, they play older jazz standards as well and the arrangements of all the songs they interpret are just perfect.

Your new favorite song is their version of Pump Up The Jam...trust me, go listen then go buy.

And if you are digging that old school style of Django Reinhardt vibed jazz, you should check out Newfoundland guitarist Duane Andrews who has released some kick ass music in that vein...no ACDC covers but it's excellent nonetheless.
