Polaris Prize: 2008 Shortlist Of Nominees Announced

Soooo...this morning there was a fancy(ish) event where this year's ten Polaris Prize nominees were announced, and I can already SMELL the winners from here. The winner will receive a $20,000 prize and will be announced at an even fancier event at the Phoenix Concert Theatre on September 29, 2008.

In alphabetical order:

Caribou Andorra
Kathleen Edwards Asking For Flowers
Holy Fuck LP
Plants and Animals Parc Avenue
Shad The Old Prince
Stars In Our Bedroom After The War
Two Hours Traffic Little Jabs
The Weakerthans Reunion Tour

I know who I'd vote for if I was on the panel of elite jurors (ahem...why aren't I?? Jokes.). If Holy Fuck or Plants And Animals don't win, I'm going to shriek like a lobster being dipped into boiling water. They sooo deserve it.

Previous winners are Final Fantasy (2006) and Patrick Watson (2007). Good luck to everyone!

TWO HOURS TRAFFIC NEED TO WIN!!!
They are an amazing band, and they are my hometown heroes from Prince Edward Island. If you don't know them, go and get their record "Little Jabs" right now! I've seen them live 3 times and everytime they are incredible! Check em out! And let's hope that they win!
