Slakah The Beatchild - 'What's This Feeling?'
Director: Marc Andre Debruyne
I was introduced to this video just 2 hours ago and already I've watched it 5 times. 'What's This Feeling?' is cute and plays with your imagination in a way that is rarely seen these days in music videos. What I like the most about it is the way that the animation perfectly compliments the message of the song. Despite the lack of character dialogue, you know exactly what's being felt and thought at any given moment because it's drawn out for you to see. It's simple and says so much at the same time.

I really gotta say I feel for Slakah The Beatchild, though. At first it was all roses and smiles, but then the girl has to go and ruin it all by demanding diamonds and ish. Girl, he just gave you an animated world, a bouquet of flowers and his heart! Pssshh! I mean, you give a person an inch...Well hey, the good news is that we now know the cure for a broken heart. And that, my friends, is a dancing dog who can play the drums!
From the animation to the dog costume and the puppy love inbetween, this video really takes me back to the playfulness of my childhood. And seriously, any music video that can do that is welcome by me with open arms!

This video comes with much pride from director Marc Andre Debruyne, who has also directed videos across the rock/pop/urban/country genres, for artists like Jully Black, Trinity Chris, Hello Beautiful and Sequoia Throne.
