As much as I have already grown to loathe the expression "pulling a Radiohead" or "pulling a Nine Inch Nails", that's precisely what Bloc Party announced they were doing yesterday. To be more accurate they're pulling a Stars or Girl Talk - releasing a digital copy of a new album months before its physical release in anticipation of a downloading shitstorm. So why not give it away now anyway?
Bloc Party's third album, called Intimacy, will be available via digital download on the band's official website this Thursday, August 21. A physical album will be on store shelves on Tuesday, October 28.
According to the band, the hard copy CD will contain a few different tracks from the digital version, so it'll be worth it for fans to own both.
Tracklisting:
1. Ares
2. Mercury
3. Halo
4. Biko
5. Trojan Horse
6. Signs
7. One Month Off
8. Zephyrus
9. Better Than Heaven
10. Ion Square
