Miley, Charlie and more!
February 21st, 2014
After we found out Questlove will be making a cameo in an upcoming episode of Law and Order, we realized a lot of musicians have played either a suspect or a dead body in TV’s biggest franchise. There’s probably a Law and Order members jacket out there somewhere…
Stars singer Torquil Campbell was blessed enough to appear in two separate episodes. He played the nerdy Christopher James on the very first season of SVU and the sketchy Justin Fletcher in the 10th season of the original.
Before his breakout role in Crash, rapper Ludacris starred in two recurring episodes of Special Victims Unit as a man wrongfully accused of rape and murder. Those were some of the most intense episodes!
’90s rock stud Mark McGrath (of Sugar Ray fame) played a suspect on the 7th season of SVU.
Hilary Duff played a young mom whose baby was first missing and then found dead on the 10th season of SVU. It was actually refreshing to see her go from playing the squeaky clean Lizzie McGuire to such a bad girl in a very dark episode of the series.
Rapper 2Chainz got grilled by detectives on the 14th season of SVU. He didn’t have that many lines but some gems were “Aw, yeah!” and ”Come on, man, you know I can’t carry, I’m on parole!”
Outkast’s Big Boi had the coolest role on Law and Order SVU when he played a millionaire who owned a tiger (that eventually ate someone).
X Factor season 2 runner up Carly Rose Sonenclar took a big stretch when she played a singer in a recent episode of Law and Order SVU, titled “Dissonant Voices”.
In the same episode, Clay Aiken, Ashanti and Taylor Hicks played American Idol-like judges on a fictional singing show.
And the legendary Patti Smith played a Columbia University mythology professor who helped Detective Goren crack a case on an episode of Law and Order Criminal Intent back in 2011.
Looks like we could all use a L&O marathon this weekend. This court is adjourned.
