It’s actually dangerous
October 29th, 2011
During our drive Rosemary explained how she achieved her current position at Plan and described her first trip to Africa 20 years ago. She left her position as a lawyer to concentrate fully on international development when she was a young woman. I think since I’ve met her I’ve asked her at least a million questions and she’s an incredible resource. Almost immediately I understood her success as she possesses a wonderful dedication and passion for understanding huge problems in order to create real systematic change. There is still a need for better relationships between nations and governments; and agricultural development, nutrition, health, and conflict all factor into emergency response. All of this in the midst of these ideas swelled in my head during my first introduction to Ethiopia. It was a lot to take in. Did I mention Ethiopia is breathtaking?
