I just got my hands on the highly anticipated game for the holiday season, Assassin’s Creed. There is a lot of hype around this game because of its game play, graphics, and innovative technology used. One of the major things about this game is how the main character, Altaïr responds to large crowds! Another impressive feature of the game is how Altaïr can pretty much climb any wall or building, as long as it has something that he can grab onto. The other cool thing is that there is a huge twist in the game that will be revealed to you at the start of the game.

Altaïr close up
The main character is Altaïr. He is an assassin in the 12th century who has lost all of his weapons and abilities due to him breaking the three main codes of the assassin’s and the failure of a mission. Altaïr was spared his life because of his strengths and has to learn everything all over again. Since Altaïr has start from the beginning you have to complete a number of mission to regain status in the Assassin’s Order. By completing the missions, you will earn your weapons, certain fighting abilities and status in the Assassin’s Order.
Enough about the story and more on the game play.
The training sessions that you must complete are extremely helpful for when you are playing the game. For example one of the training missions is to blend into a crowd. This will help you a number of times during the game. In one instance, you need to blend in with a group of monks to enter a village. The other mission in the training that was useful was walking through a crowd by softly pushing them out of the way. It took me a while to realize that I had to hold down on the B button in order for me to go through the crown without bumping into someone and knocking things over.
Once you complete the first set of tasks you regain your sword! The cool part of the game is that you can practice the use of your weapons before setting out on your missions. The game allows you to complete your missions at your own pace. If you feel the need to help a civilian on the way to assassinating your target, do so they will help you in the end! The graphics are superb and realistic. The fighting scenes are awesome, especially when you fight a group of soldiers. When you fight a group of soldiers be sure to always have your sword in defending mode once you kill a soldier because the next solider will strike! The best part about fighting a group of soldiers is when you kill the last soldier the camera zooms in and you witness Altaïr kill the soldier.
