If you’re bummed out that you’re grounded, think about your friends in Australia. The parents of Aussie Directioners have been told to keep their kids at home because of potential mayhem that may arise from One Direction’s performance at the Logie Awards. Security personnel and organizers are bracing for the worst in anticipation of the hoards of hysterical fans, which could lead to disruption in the community or even injury. Officials also have to consider the safety and well-being of the 1D boys.

Australian police aren’t strangers to extreme fan behaviour. When Justin Bieber came to Australia to make an appearance on a morning television show, police had to cancel the event due to the frenzy amongst fans. Bieber fever lead to some minor injuries for a few Beliebers and disappointment for fans who wanted to see Justin.

When One Direction was here on New.Music.Live, we too were blown away by your fandom. Even when we were shooting our NML One Direction special, the reaction by a handful of Directioners was deafening. In Paris, they had to shut down streets for an in-store appearance by the 1D boys. Despite the potential havoc, One Direction is still touring the globe, riding the wave of success promoting their debut album, Up All Night.
