Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner split

So much for her happy ending. After gushing about her boyfriend of almost two years on New.Music.Live. this past October, US Weekly is now reporting that Avril Lavgine and Brody Jenner have called it quits.

The mag is reporting that the split was a result of Avril’s lack of support towards Brody’s career (huh?) and that the singer discouraged him from taking television gigs (wha?), instead asking that he tour with her. Let’s just recap. Brody’s ‘work’ on TV has consisted of him playing himself on The Hills and Brody playing himself on The Princes of Malibu. Are we calling that a TV career? Aren’t those his only ‘jobs’? How are camera’s following you around a job? Isn’t it just a really weird thing that gives you money? Well, I guess if your step-sisters are the Kardashian girls then yes, these were ‘jobs’. But even those three have clothing lines, stores and endorsement deals. Brody – if your girlfriend wants you to travel the world with her instead of seeing you do reality TV, you say ‘I love you’ and ‘pass me an Abbey Dawn hoody’.

It always seemed odd to me that Avril, who has a hugely successful music career, a line of perfume and her own clothing label, dated someone who did…nada. I’m still hoping she’ll get back with Deryck Whibley. Sum 41 for evah.
