Azealia Banks signs with Lady Gaga’s manager

American rapper Azealia Banks has announced that she has signed with Troy Carter, Lady Gaga’s manager. This has spurted rumours that she will be performing for Gaga on the upcoming Born This Way Ball tour which will start on April 27th. Based on Azealia’s stellar performance at Coachella this weekend, the Lady Gaga tour would only get better if Banks was to be included. The set Azealia performed was also her first official American gig she has booked.

Azealia was previously signed on with XL Recordings, which hosts acts like Adele, Vampire Weekend, and The xx, but in January moved onto Universal. The switch happened after Banks and XL Recordings pulled a Perry-Brand and cited “conflicting creative visions. The move also has allowed Banks to invest (yes, we went there) more into the production behind her much anticipated EP, 1991.

Azealia’s debut LP, Broke With Expensive Taste is slated for a September release, but until then you can catch her catchy hit 212 below.
