It’s almost back to school time. As much as I used to hate that phrase I now miss it, so if you’re going back to school I hope you appreciate it. Anyway, I figured I would offer some advice for going back to school and give you the top 5 things to make it less painful.

5. A Kick-Ass Accessory - the perfect accessory can make you feel better when you’re walking into class on the first day. For girls I’d suggest a good bag or anything that makes you happy. For guys I’d say a good hat, maybe a jacket or a hoodie, but again, it has to make you happy. Also it doesn’t have to be expensive, my best accessories have all come from Value Village.

4. Inspirational Music - nothing improves a bad day like good music. Young Jeezy is a motivator so maybe his album The Recession, (drops September 2nd), or perfect for the slightly cool month of September, Vampire Weekend (self titled). The key is to make sure it gives you CONFIDENCE.

3. Killer Shoes - do I really need to expand on this? Shoes make everything better. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money but still want to be cooler than your friends may I suggest the all black leather moccasins for $11 at Wal-Mart? Price does not determine coolness.

2. One Good Friend - groups of friends are overrated, it’s best to have one super solid friend and take on the entire school that way, like Seth on the O.C.

1. A Crazy Story - when you are trying to do anything but schoolwork, what better way than to talk about something awesome that happened in the summer? This one is up to you but the crazier the better, like going to the MMVAs or sneaking backstage at a Jonas Brothers concert. Much contests can help you out if you’re stuck for ideas.

I hope this helps. My last piece of advice is don’t stress too much, it’s just school after all. I used to stress myself into insomnia over school, but now I look back and think what was I even stressed about? School is pretty awesome, the problem is you need to finish before you can realize it. If you know that already and you’re still in school, you’ve already won.
