Rihanna can now add “perfumer” to her list of many talents. The Bajan beauty has a new fragrance called “Reb’l Fleur” (rebel flower) hitting stores next week. The fragrance was inspired by Rihanna’s Caribbean upbringing with notes of fresh fruits and flowers, as well as a mix of vanilla, patchouli and amber. As for the name: “Rebel Flower” was a childhood nickname for Rihanna, coined by her grandmother. (The singer also has the phrase tattooed on her neck!)

Rihanna is also getting back on PETA’s good side with the new fragrance. After being a target of PETA in past years for her love of fur and leather, Rihanna worked to make sure the perfume would be cruelty-free and not tested on animals. All the ingredients are also sourced in an environmentally friendly way. PETA said Rihanna’s decision proves that “beauty doesn’t have to have an ugly side.”
