Oh, hello. We’ve got a couple reasons to be jubilant ’round these parts. One, that we just launched a tarty new MuchMore site. Like it? Of course. Second source of dance-y joy comes from these three First Spins that will provide a soundtrack to our first week with a new MuchMore look. Listen to them, enjoy them, deconstruct them, share them, listen to them again, and hey - you can’t even buy one of ‘em for another week. How’s that for a sneak peek…
Bat For Lashes - Two Suns (in stores April 7)
This UK export caught our eye with the amazing video for “What’s A Girl To Do” from her last album Fur And Gold. Since then, we’ve been loving her haunting themes, lush melodies and unique style. In Two Suns, apparently she takes on the persona “Pearl”, “a destructive, self-absorbed, blonde, femme fatale of a persona who acts as a direct foil to [BFL's] more mystical, desert-born spiritual self.” Listen now!
Great Lake Swimmers - Lost Channels (March 31)
This Canadian folk-rock band has released three full-lengths, an EP and a limited edition LP. Lost Channels, their fourth, features appearances by Serena Ryder, Bob Egan, Erin Aurich of A Northern Chorus and Paul Aucoin of Hylozoists and was named for a spot in the Thousand Islands (Ontario) where a reconnaissance boat from a British warship went missing in 1760. Listen Now!
Maria Taylor - LadyLuck (March 31)
Before going solo, Maria was a member of the duo Azure Ray as well as Now It’s Overhead. She plays every instrument known to man (more specifically: piano, guitar, drums) and has released three studio solo albums including this one. Listen Now!
