Back in 2007, robo-math rock outfit Battles dazzled ears with an album called Mirrored, which balanced unlikely melodies with razor-sharp instrumental precision. Now, four years later, they’ve announced their long-awaited follow-up.
Gloss Drop, as its named, will be released via Warp Records on June 7th. The album marks the first new music they will release without vocalist/co-founder Tyondai Braxton, who left last summer during recording sessions.
The 12-track LP will include collaborations with Blonde Redhead’s Kazu Makino, new wave legend Gary Numan, Boredoms frontman Yamantaka Eye and minimal disco artist Matias Aguayo.
