Teammates Josh & Hollie of Beauty & The Geek 4

How much do I love the “social experiment” that is Beauty & The Geek…? THIIIIIIISSSSSSSS MUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHH.

Last night’s season premiere was absolutely splendid. It started off as a fun romp across the States to hold open casting calls for this season’s cast. The judges of these casting sessions were last season’s lovebirds Nate & Jennylee, and on this journey we met two stand-out Geeks: the happy, lovable Tony and the charming dork-fest that is Joshua. I believe these two, with their gung-ho attitudes, will make it far in the competition.

But this season there is a TWIST! At the end of the episode, after teams of two were made, a tenth team was introduced – compiled of a male beauty and a female geek!

If you’ve never seen this show before and you easily scoff at it then you need to check your shallow attitude at the door. This is one of the only reality shows that actually has heart – even though these contestants are fighting for a cash prize, they actually go through personal journeys and learn from one another. Yes, Beauty & The Geek is not just hilarious, it is also extremely touching.

Oh, and there’s nothing sweeter than when a Beauty falls in love with a Geek. Everyone wins!
