Beyonce gives birth to baby girl

The holy child has arrived! The New York Daily News is reporting that Beyonce and Jay-Z rented out an entire floor at New York’s Lennox Hill Hospital on the Upper East Side for Beyonce, who went into labour and gave birth early last night. The paper is also reporting that the couple have named their first child, a baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter.

Friends of Jay-Z and Beyonce have taken to Twitter to congratulate the couple, with Rihanna tweeting “Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih” and Gwyneth Paltrow tweeting “Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already.”

The NY Daily Paper is also reporting that the hospital is going to extreme measures to keep pictures of the couple and the baby from getting leaked, including putting tape over security cameras and forcing employees to turn in their cell phones upon entering the hospital. Wouldn’t it be easier to just build a hospital in their own apartment? Anywho, congrats to the couple!
