Bieber Fever hit Long Island hard on Friday afternoon, resulting in minor injuries and one arrest.

More than 3,000 people gathered to see Justin Bieber at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York. Pushing and shoving matches broke out and a barrier collapsed, forcing the police were required to intervene and thus cancel the appearance.

Five people were sent to a hospital.

The person arrested was James Roppo, a vice president of Island Def Jam Records, which released Bieber’s debut album My World last week. Roppo was charged with endangering the welfare of children and obstructing governmental administration for - get this - refusing to send a Twitter message asking the crowd to leave.

Bieber was told by cops that he would have to cancel or risk getting arrested. On Twitter he wrote: “wow. this upsets me. the mall should of had proper security. They wouldnt let me in! Gotta make this right 4 the fans.”
